Premonitions

Beam me to the afternoon or some time close Let me see the sun begin to run around the rim of the earth As if it just gave birth To a fat moon baby Who just wants earth mommy to hold her close But ring around the sun she goes again The sunny side of days, the sun, around the one The future was so long ago I keep trying to remember What we used to think it was But it all feels like premonitions looking back Maybe this is just life in its default state A full question mark just hanging as bait Like an elephant stomping all around the living room Wondering why you wont throw it's favorite shoe I've got pretty good at questioning my questions. I've got pretty good at questioning the state of my mind today, Or was that yesterday. Oh this life may leave me To the dust we're resisting But eventually the system Brings us all back together again I'll see you soon my friend
