Ratings and reviews
Review guidelines
Album ratings and reviews on AI Record Shop come only from people who bought the album. This page explains how that is checked, what we publish, and the few reasons a review can be hidden.
Last updated: September 2026
Who can review
You can rate and review an album when all of these are true:
- You are signed in to an account. Signing in requires a verified email address.
- That account bought the album itself, as a paid album purchase. Purchases made at checkout as a guest count too, once you sign in with the email address you used for the order.
- The purchase still stands. A refunded order, or one with an open payment dispute, does not count.
These do not count as buying the album:
- buying one or more single songs from it;
- the free album from the newsletter;
- an album received as a gift;
- an album credit from the label.
How it is checked: the store looks up the paid order for that album before it accepts a rating, and again every time the album page is shown. If the order is later refunded or disputed, the review stops showing, and it no longer counts toward the average. Every review shown carries the words "Verified purchase".
You can leave one review per album and edit it at any time. An edited review goes through the same checks again. Your review is shown with the display name on your profile, which you can change at any time; your email address is never shown. Deleting your account deletes your reviews.
What gets published
We publish every rating and review that follows these guidelines, whatever its rating, 1 star or 5, and including opinions about AI music. A negative review is never hidden for being negative.
- A star rating with no text is published straight away.
- A review can be up to 1,000 characters of plain text. Links and email addresses are not allowed; a review that contains one is sent back to you to edit.
- Text that matches a short list of slurs and obscene words is held for a quick check by a person before it goes up. The list is the same for every rating. Held reviews are decided within 7 days.
- Everything else is published straight away.
Reviews are listed newest first, and every published review can be read; we never order them to push critical ones out of sight.
How the average works
- The average counts every published rating, including star ratings with no text.
- It is a plain average of those ratings, shown to one decimal place with the number of ratings beside it. Nothing is weighted, and nothing is left out for being low.
- An album shows an average once it has 3 published ratings, and a breakdown by stars once it has 10.
- Ratings that are held or hidden, or whose purchase was refunded or disputed, are not counted.
- Star ratings with no text count toward the average but are not listed as reviews.
Reporting a review
If you are signed in, every review has a Report link. Choose the reason from the list above and, if you like, add a note of up to 300 characters, which is never published. Reports go to Romek, who runs the store, and are read by a person.
A report never hides a review by itself, however many there are. A review is hidden only when it breaks one of the rules above. You can also email support@airecordshop.com.
The label and reviews
- VibeMusicAIRecords never rates or reviews its own albums, and store staff accounts cannot leave reviews.
- We pay nothing for reviews and offer no discounts, credits or other rewards for leaving one.
- We never ask only happy buyers to review.
- The label may reply once, publicly, to a review. Replies are shown under the review and signed "Romek, VibeMusicAIRecords".
