Silent Days

I used to drift through silent days Chasing shadows that wouldn't stay But every path, it led to you Even the ones I thought I outgrew The sky would open when you'd smile And I'd believe again, just for a while Now I'm learning to believe alone Still I hear your voice when I'm on my own I carry love, though we're apart It's written deep into my heart No need for blame, no war to fight I turn my face back to the light I saw our memories start to fade But felt the lessons they had made Your echo softened every fall Still teaching me to rise through it all Maybe we were never lost Just different winds, the same old cross The tide may pull, the storm may scream But love still lingers in the dream I carry love, though we're apart It's written deep into my heart No need for blame, no war to fight I turn my face back to the light I choose the light I choose release I choose the silence that brings peace
