Scribes of Vanishing Sounds
About this album
Their debut record, Scribes of Vanishing Sounds, was recorded on magnetic tape said to have been buried in a saltwater cave for centuries. Instruments were tuned to forgotten frequencies, but then tuned back to normal chords because it made no sense. Wilder’s lyrics were reportedly written while he was asleep.

More from The Remembering
he fictitious band met during a thunderstorm above Lake Titicaca, inside the megalithic ruins of Tiwanaku. There, they claimed to hear the voice of Viracocha, god of creation, speaking through the stone. According to myth (and perhaps acid), the members became musically enlightened during a group hypnosis experiment. They experienced a shared vision of a civilization that predated history, a society of light, sound, and ritual that used music to pass on truth across incarnations. The three awoke speaking in chords, drawing musical notes, and writing songs from their visions.
