Standing at the window watching particles collide Everything's in motion but I'm frozen here inside Schrödinger's dilemma playing out in real time Am I the one observing or observed by design? Every measurement changes what we're trying to see The act of looking alters the reality Quantum superposition of the life I might have led Collapses into one truth the moment it's been read Does the universe exist when no one's looking? Does the tree fall silent in the empty woods? All these philosophical questions we keep cooking Never tasted half as good as we thought they would Heisenberg's uncertainty applies to more than matter The closer that I look the less I understand Every answer that I find just makes the questions scatter Like light through a prism in my hand Double-slit experiment with my own existence Walking through one door means the other disappears Wave or particle, it all depends on distance And which version of myself that I can see from here Does the universe exist when no one's looking?
